Privacy Policy

StoculMeu ("we", "our", "the app", available at www.stoculmeu.ro) is a personal/family productivity application providing modules for money account tracking, vehicle management, expense splitting, personal objectives, notes, investment tracking, and related tools, gated behind a single user account. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

When you create an account or sign in, we collect:

• Account information: your email address, a username, and (if you sign in with a password) a securely hashed password.
• Google account information, if you sign in with Google: your Google account ID, email address, name, and profile picture URL, provided to us by Google after you consent.
• Content you create in the app: notes, lists, objectives, money-account transactions, car/vehicle records, expense-split entries, and similar data you enter into the modules you use. This data belongs to you and is used solely to provide the app's features back to you.
• Basic technical data: login timestamps, session cookies used to keep you signed in, and standard web server logs (IP address, browser user-agent) used for security and troubleshooting.

2. Google Drive access (Notes backup)

The Notes module offers an optional "Backup to Google Drive" feature. If you choose to connect it, you grant the app permission to create, list, and delete files in a Google Drive folder you select, so it can:

• Upload a JSON export of your own notes (titles, content, lists, and organization — no file attachments) to that folder, either when you click "Backup now" or once a day automatically if you enable that option.
• List and remove older backup files in that same folder once more than the retention limit (30) accumulate, so the folder doesn't grow without bound.
• Read a backup file back, only when you explicitly choose to restore it.

This access is used only for the backup/restore feature described above. We do not read, modify, or delete any other files in your Google Drive, and we do not access this feature's data for any purpose other than performing the backup or restore action you request. The OAuth refresh token that grants this access is stored securely in our database, tied to your account, and is never shared with any third party. You can revoke this access at any time from the app's Notes → Backup settings page ("Disconnect"), or directly from your Google Account permissions page.

3. How we use your information

• To create and maintain your account, and let you sign in.
• To provide the features of whichever modules you've enabled (e.g. storing the notes, transactions, or records you enter).
• To send you account-related email (e.g. password reset links, or reminders you've explicitly enabled such as car service/insurance due dates or note reminders).
• To process subscription payments for paid modules, via PayPal or Stripe (see Section 5).
• To keep the service secure and diagnose technical problems.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for advertising.

4. Data sharing

We do not share your personal information with third parties, except:

• With service providers strictly necessary to run the app — our hosting provider, our email delivery provider (for transactional email), and payment processors (PayPal, Stripe) for the specific transaction you initiate.
• With Google, only for the OAuth sign-in and Drive backup features described above, and only to the extent Google's own APIs require to perform the action you requested.
• If required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the app, its users, or others.

Some modules (car sharing invites, expense-split groups, shared note lists) let you deliberately share specific content with other users you invite — that sharing is visible to you and is a feature you control, not a third-party disclosure.

5. Payments

Paid module subscriptions are processed by PayPal and Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details — those are handled directly by the payment processor under their own privacy policies.

6. Data retention and deletion

We retain your account and its data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at the email address below. Some modules (like Notes) have their own trash/restore flow with a manual permanent-delete step; content you permanently delete there is removed from our systems, including any attached files.

7. Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and a small number of functional cookies (e.g. remembering display preferences). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures (password hashing, encrypted connections, signed session tokens) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's privacy

This app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
